1. How do I iron on patches?

Application Guidelines for Iron-On Patches:

  1. Before applying the patch, set your iron to the maximum heat setting (cotton) and allow it to heat up for approximately 3 minutes.
  2. Test your fabric's heat tolerance at this setting by doing a single pass with the iron on the garment to avoid any damage to the fabric.
  3. Place the patch on the desired location, then cover it with a cotton cloth or Teflon sheet.
  4. Using the heated iron, press down firmly on the patch, especially on the edges, and hold for 30 seconds.
  5. Turn the garment inside-out, then use the heated iron to apply pressure to the back of the patch for another 30 seconds.
  6. Remove the iron and let the patch cool for approximately 5 minutes.
  7. For an even more secure hold, it is recommended to sew around the edges of the patch after ironing.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that the patch will adhere to all types of fabric.

Patch Care:

Patches can be washed GENTLY when attached to a garment. When machine washing, it is advisable to turn the garment inside out, secure or close any zippers, hooks, or other items that may snag the patch threads during washing. We recommend washing on the gentle cycle with cold water and allowing it to air dry. It is important to note that ironed-on patches may have loosened adhesive after machine washing. Therefore, we highly recommend sewing the patch or the corners of the patch if you choose to iron it on.

How do I remove iron on Patches

How to Remove an Iron-On Embroidery Patch: A Simple Guide

If you're looking to remove an iron-on embroidery patch from your clothing, don’t worry—it’s easier than you might think! Whether you're replacing an old patch or updating your style, these simple steps will help you safely remove your embroidered patch without damaging the fabric.

1. Heat the Embroidered Patch

Start by setting your iron to a low or medium heat (avoid steam). Place the iron over the embroidered iron-on patch for about 10-15 seconds. The heat will soften the adhesive, making it easier to peel off.

2. Peel the Patch Off Carefully

After applying heat, gently lift the edge of the iron-on embroidery patch using a flat tool, such as a spatula or butter knife. Slowly peel the patch away from the fabric, being careful not to tear the fabric underneath.

3. Use Solvent if Necessary

If the patch remains stuck, apply a small amount of acetone or rubbing alcohol around the edges of the patch. Let it sit for a minute to loosen the adhesive, then try peeling the patch off again. This method is effective for removing any stubborn embroidery patch adhesives.

4. Remove Residual Adhesive

After the patch is removed, there may still be some leftover adhesive on the fabric. To clean it, use a fabric-safe adhesive remover or gently rub the area with rubbing alcohol to remove the sticky residue.

5. Wash the Fabric

To ensure your fabric is clean and free from any remaining adhesive, wash it according to the care instructions. This will leave your fabric ready for a new embroidery patch or just ready for wear.

Tips for Easy Embroidery Patch Removal:

  • Test a small, hidden area of the fabric before using any heat or solvent to ensure it won’t cause damage.
  • For particularly stubborn patches, use a patch removal tool designed specifically for embroidered patches.

By following these steps, you can easily and safely remove any iron-on embroidery patch and keep your clothing fresh for a new patch or look.
